About Me

Hi, I am Nancy, nice to meet you!

I am a yoga and mindfulness instructor living in Northern California. Having formerly built my career at Apple, Cisco, and various Tech roles, I have since moved on to teaching healing modalities that I find universally applicable. I’d love to share them with you. I enjoy teaching meditation, pranayama, as well as the following movement practices such as: vinyasa, gentle yoga, Tapas, Restorative, and Qi Gong.

My Journey...

I first began my yoga journey in 1998 when I joined a community center intro to yoga workshop in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. It’s been a path of exploration and learning for me ever since that first class. As a former Manager at Cisco and Apple, I have experienced the fast pace of Silicon Valley and the effects it can have on you. The profoundly nourishing and grounding effects of the practice are what kept bringing me back to yoga.

As time went on, I knew I wanted to go deeper in my practice. I completed my 200 hour certification in November of 2020 through the Joy of Yoga Teacher Training with Jennifer Prugh, Noell Clark, and other Joy of Yoga Faculty, which enabled me to gain my Registered Yoga Alliance Certification (RYT).

I am deeply interested in all facets of Yoga including its’ Sister Science, Ayurveda. I believe that a seasonal focus and whole-bodied approach to eating, health, and movement enables us to navigate life’s changes and heal our mind, body, and spirit. I attribute a blend of these practices (Yoga, Ayurveda, and Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture and Qi Gong) to my ability to manage my autoimmune diseases and gracefully ride the waves of intense autoimmune flare-ups and lethargy.

A perpetual student, I am passionate about studying all facets of Yoga and sharing this valuable information with others in hopes that you too can find a sense of ease. My mantra and mindset is: if one person heals by sharing information, we all heal.

My husband and I have been actively involved in The Shanti Project for around 11 years. The Shanti Project’s Mission is a pioneering nonprofit that builds human connections to reduce isolation for some of San Francisco’s most vulnerable citizens who are facing life-threatening and at times terminal diagnoses. Their goal is to improve the quality of life and human connection with the goal of extending peer support and practical assistance.

I enjoy teaching meditation, pranayama, as well as the following movement practices: vinyasa, gentle yoga, Tapas, Restorative, and Qi Gong.

My classes are best described as accessible, joyful, and grounding.

Leading three classes in the Tapas format. Tapas is a seasonally focused practice founded on principles from Ayurveda and Chinese Medicine. The goal is to support students throughout the year with a focus on helping to increase ease through seasonal transitions and to support immunity.
